While Michael Desmond's passion for photography first emerged as a child when he and his grandfather would capture images on the sands of Pismo Beach, California, it wasn't until 2000 that he made his move to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams as a photographer. The South Lake Tahoe native worked his way into the Cinematographers Guild and onto the set of some of America’s favorite television shows; including his most recent work on Showtimes’ ”House of Lies,” "Ray Donavan" and “Masters of Sex;” and ABC's "Shark Tank". These images have been seen in periodicals such as Entertainment Weekly, The Los Angeles Times, TV Guide, and many others around the world. In 2011, Michael was nominated for the Publicists Awards for Excellence in Television Unit Photography. In addition to unit photography for the television and motion picture industry, Michael's work can be seen in billboards and ads for various networks and television shows. His commercial work includes Kia Motors®, Puppy Chow®, Carl’s Jr.®, Universal Studios Hollywood and Coca Cola®. Michael takes joy in teaching photography workshops as well as taking pictures of his travels and fine art nudes. When Michael is not behind a camera lens (which isn't very often) you can find him traveling or playing beach volleyball.
